If you live in the Muncie, or surrounding area, chances are you’ve been blinded by the truck, roaming the streets and highways. Even in the most intense blizzard, this truck would be easily visible. The 2015 GMC Sierra pick up, originally sporting Quicksilver Metallic factory paint, now blazes a complete vinyl vehicle wrap in Matte Hi-Liter Fluorescent Yellow. Get up close to it, and your mind will try to convince you it’s a paint job. Touch it and you’re still certain it’s paint, but talk to Starocket Media owner, Tim Wilson, and he will assure you it’s a full vehicle, vinyl wrap.

Why Hi-Liter yellow on a new pick-up truck? According to Wilson, it was intended to create a buzz, and start conversations. And a buzz it created indeed! For the past two months, folks in the Muncie area, and commuters to Indianapolis alike have asked, “Have you seen that bright yellow truck?” That’s the exact response Wilson was going for. “I wanted to put something radical out there. I wanted something that had no other information on it, something that just created a buzz in the community, so people would be curious about it.”

Starocket Media's statement lets their audience know these are not paint jobs, but instead are custom vinyl wraps.{"focusMode":1,"deviceTilt":-0.01758981868624687,"whiteBalanceProgram":0,"macroEnabled":false,"qualityMode":3}

Some have asked why there was no logo, or business information on it to identify it as a Starocket Media wrap. Wilson’s objective was to generate the buzz then make the statement. The full back window now sports a perforated vinyl graphic with the statement, “Layed, Not Sprayed”, indicating this is not a paint job, nor permanent application, in fact, this highlighter yellow version, has one of the shorter lifespans in vehicle wraps. Though it is still durable through all weather conditions, car washes, and daily wear, it does tend to show chips and other debris hits from the road a little more than other wraps, simply by the nature of the material used on this one. Wilson said, “My intent was more in the realm of a guerrilla marketing campaign with this particular wrap.” He went on to say his plan is to switch out this Hi-Liter yellow wrap, for a different one in the coming months, stating, “I want my next personal wrap to be bright pink, in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness hopefully, during the corresponding Awareness month of October. I want to continue to switch out these radical wraps on a regular basis on my truck to show people we really can, do anything with vinyl wraps.”
